The Buonamico Award is a prestigious, yearly award-giving ceremony held under the patronage of H.E. The President of Malta, which recognises individuals whose actions and achievements have positively impacted biodiversity and the environment. Mary is a recognized professional in both the local and international waste management sectors. Her expertise in Hazardous Waste has earned her membership in the prestigious Chartered Institute of Wastes Management (CIWM) UK and is also a certified Dangerous Goods Safety Advisor (DGSA), ensuring compliance with the highest standards in hazardous waste management. This certification enhances Green Skip Services’ ability to provide safe and legally compliant waste management solutions across various industries. Mary actively participates in environmental and business seminars and conferences, advocating for sustainable practices and regulatory compliance within the industry. Doris Sammut Bonnici: Doris Sammut is the Co-founder and Joint Managing Director of Green Skip Services. With a strong background in environmental advocacy and a passion for sustainable business practices, Doris has been instrumental in shaping the company’s growth and success since its inception in 1992.
Her leadership extends beyond the operations of Green Skip Services; Doris is a recognised figure in the local and international waste management sectors. She has been a key participant and contributor at various seminars and conferences both in Malta and abroad, advocating for the adoption of responsible waste management practices and environmental sustainability.
Doris is also actively involved in several prominent industry organizations. She serves on the council of the Malta Employers’ Association and represents Malta on the European Economic and Social Committee (EESC), where she advocates for policies that support both economic growth and environmental protection.
